What information is collected
The following information may be collected when you do business with colorFabb:
- contact information including email address
- demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
- other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers
For the exhaustive list of cookies that are collected see the List of cookies section. colorFabb BV only collect the information given by you. This data is essential to make sure the orders placed with colorFabb BV, either through the webshop or directly as a B2B customer, are being handled, processed and shipped as efficient as possible.
At no point does colorFabb BV keep financial records like credit card details, bank details, etc. in its records. This data is kept at financial processing companies like Multisafepay and Paypal. colorFabb BV is in possession of documents that proof customer data is protected according to the highest standards.
How the information is used
colorFabb BV uses the data to initially complete orders and for its own marketing purposes. These marketing purposes will all be related to 3D printing and originate from colorFabb BV. At no point will colorFabb BV sell or give away data to a third party for marketing (or any other) purposes. colorFabb BV will also not buy or handle private data supplied by third parties without the explicit consent of the person or company involved.
The information collected is required to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:
- Internal record keeping.
- Information may be used to improve our products and services.
- Periodically promotional emails may be sent about new products, special offers or other information which you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
- From time to time, you can be contacted to provide information for market research purposes. This will be done by email. The information used can be used to to customise the website according to your interests.
As a mostly online platform, colorFabb is committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, suitable safeguards have put in place (high end software, anti-virus software, password protected accounts, access to information only limited to specific employees at colorFabb, etc.) to ensure the information you have provided is being handled in a safe way.
Data is entered into systems from certain selected partners. These partners include (but not exclusive to) DHL for shipping, Paypal and Multisafepay for payment processing, Mailchimp for marketing emails, Magento as the webshop platform and Microsoft Dynamics NAV as ERP system. These partners are all certified to handle data with the highest degree of security.
When contacted directly by email, colorFabb BV may share data with its partners (be it printer manufacturers whose printers are being distributed by colorFabb or resellers and distributors) if this is necessary due to previous agreements or if this is in the best interest of the customer.
Example 1: A school wants to purchase filaments, but can only source locally - we will then share the information with a local reselling partner.
Example 2: A potential customer wants to purchase a printer but the customer is located outside the territory where colorFabb is allowed to sell said printer - we will forward the request to the manufacturer of the printer.
colorFabb is a sister company of Helian Polymers (additives, masterbatches and bioplastics) and Blackbelt BV (3D printers). Whenever applicable we will share data between these companies to provide for a complete service.
How cookies are used
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.
At colorFabb traffic log cookies are being used to identify which pages are being used. This helps to analyse data about web page traffic and improve the website in order to tailor it to customer needs. Information is only used for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.
Overall, cookies help to provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. Controlling your personal information
You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:
- whenever you are asked to fill in a form on the website, look for the box that you can click to indicate that you do not want the information to be used by anybody for direct marketing purposes

It is colorFabb’s policy to not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless your permission in writing is in our possession or are required by law to do so. Your personal information may be used to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen.
At any time you can receive a summary of the data that colorFabb BV has in it systems. If requested we can remove names and addresses from our systems to a certain extent, but this will mean that a new account has to be made for a next purchase. Your name and details cannot be erased from, say, bank records for obvious reasons.
Your rights are guaranteed under EU law General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 and colorFabb BV will comply with this law.
If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write by email us as soon as possible, at the above address. A colorFabb employee will then take the necessary steps to correct this.
